Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) composite is formed by combining resin (epoxy, phenolic, furan, etc.) with reinforcing glass fiber. It withstands various corrosive environments including strong acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric), strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide), salt spray and organic solvents without any risk of rust.
Different resins are suitable for different environments: epoxy resin is suitable for medium and low temperature acid and alkaline environments; phenolic resin has excellent heat resistance (≤150°C); furan resin is suitable for strongly oxidizing environments.

With a density of only one-quarter to one-fifth that of steel, the overall weight of the mine fan is significantly reduced, which reduces the load on the foundation and minimizes lifting and transportation costs.
