Product Description
Exceptional Corrosion Resistance (Core Feature)
Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is formed by combining resin (epoxy, phenolic, furan, etc.) with reinforcing glass fiber. It withstands various corrosive environments including strong acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric), strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide), salt spray, and organic solvents without risk of rust.
Different resins suit different environments: epoxy resin is suitable for medium- and low-temperature acid and alkaline environments; phenolic resin offers superior heat resistance (≤150°C); furan resin is suitable for strongly oxidizing environments.

Lightweight yet High-Strength, Easy Installation
With a density only one-quarter to one-fifth that of steel, the overall weight of the mine fan is significantly reduced, lowering foundation load and minimizing lifting and transportation costs. It has high mechanical strength, with compressive and impact resistance comparable to ordinary steel, meeting the structural strength requirements of large mine fans (impeller diameter exceeding 3000 mm).
Insulating and Fire-Resistant Properties
FRP does not conduct electricity or heat, and has inherent fire-resistant properties (some grades meet fire resistance class B1). Suitable for explosion-proof and anti-static applications (requires the use of explosion-proof motors).
Low Fluid Resistance
The smooth surface and low internal friction coefficient of glass fiber reinforced plastic provide minimal resistance to gas transport, delivering a 3–5% efficiency improvement compared to steel mine fans with similar specifications.
Extended Service Life
Under normal operating conditions (average temperature ≤80°C, moderate concentration), the service life can reach 8–15 years with low maintenance costs.
Low Vibration and Noise Level
Thanks to the stable operation of the centrifugal mine fan combined with dynamic balance optimization of the fiberglass impeller, the operating noise level is reduced by 5–10 dB(A) compared to steel mine fans.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q
What makes GRP/FRP mine fans more corrosion-resistant than steel fans?
GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) fans are manufactured by combining high-performance resins — such as epoxy, phenolic, or furan — with reinforcing glass fiber. This composite structure is inherently resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, salt spray, and organic solvents, completely eliminating the risk of rust that is common in steel fans operating in corrosive mine environments.
Q
How does the weight of a GRP mine fan compare to a steel mine fan?
A GRP mine fan weighs only one-quarter to one-fifth of an equivalent steel fan. This significant weight reduction lowers the structural load on the foundation and greatly reduces transportation and installation costs, making it especially advantageous for large-scale mining operations.
Q
Is the GRP centrifugal mine fan suitable for explosion-proof environments?
Yes. FRP does not conduct electricity or heat and possesses inherent fire-resistant properties — certain grades meet fire resistance class B1. When paired with certified explosion-proof motors, these fans are well-suited for explosion-proof and anti-static applications commonly required in coal mines and chemical plants.
Q
What is the expected service life of a GRP mine fan?
Under normal operating conditions — with an average temperature of ≤80°C and moderate corrosive concentration — a GRP mine fan can achieve a service life of 8 to 15 years. The material's inherent corrosion resistance significantly reduces the frequency and cost of maintenance compared to traditional steel fans.
Q
Does the GRP mine fan offer better energy efficiency than steel fans?
Yes. The smooth inner surface and low friction coefficient of GRP material minimize resistance during gas transport. This results in a 3–5% improvement in airflow efficiency compared to steel mine fans with equivalent specifications, leading to measurable energy savings over long-term operation.
Q
How much quieter is a GRP mine fan compared to a conventional steel mine fan?
Thanks to the stable centrifugal operation and optimized dynamic balancing of the fiberglass impeller, GRP mine fans produce 5–10 dB(A) less noise than comparable steel mine fans. This makes them a preferred choice in environments where noise control and worker safety are priorities.
