    Product Description
⭐ Exceptional Corrosion Resistance (Key Feature)
Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP) composite is formed by combining resin (epoxy, phenolic, furan, etc.) with reinforcing glass fiber. It withstands various corrosive environments including strong acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric), strong alkalis (sodium hydroxide), salt spray and organic solvents without risk of rust.

Different resins suit different environments: epoxy resin is suitable for medium and low temperature acid and alkali environments; phenolic resin has excellent heat resistance (≤150°C); furan resin is suitable for strongly oxidizing environments.
🏋️ Lightweight yet High-Strength, Easy Installation
With a density of only one-quarter to one-fifth that of steel, the overall weight of the mine fan is significantly reduced, allowing for reduced foundation load and minimized lifting and transportation costs. It has high mechanical strength, and its compression and impact resistance is comparable to ordinary steel, meeting the structural strength requirements of large mine fans (impeller diameter exceeding 3000 mm).
    🔥 Insulating and Fire-Resistant Properties
FRP does not conduct electricity or heat, and has inherent fire-resistant properties (some grades meet fire resistance class B1). Suitable for explosion-proof and anti-static applications (requires use of explosion-proof motors).
    💨 Low Fluid Resistance
The smooth surface and low internal friction coefficient of glass fiber reinforced plastic provides minimal gas transport resistance, delivering a 3–5% efficiency gain compared to steel mine fans with similar specifications.
    ⏱️ Extended Service Life
Under normal operating conditions (average temperature ≤80°C, moderate concentration), service life can reach 8–15 years with low maintenance costs.
    🔇 Low Vibration and Noise
Thanks to the stable operation of the centrifugal mine fan combined with dynamic balance optimization of the fiberglass impeller, operating noise is reduced by 5–10 dB(A) compared to steel mine fans.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q What makes GRP/FRP centrifugal mine fans more corrosion-resistant than steel fans?
GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) fans are manufactured by combining resin (epoxy, phenolic, or furan) with reinforcing glass fiber, creating a composite material that is inherently resistant to rust and chemical attack. Unlike steel, GRP does not oxidize when exposed to strong acids, alkalis, salt spray, or organic solvents, making it ideal for harsh underground mining environments.
Q How does the weight of a GRP mine fan compare to a steel mine fan?
GRP mine fans are significantly lighter — their density is only one-quarter to one-fifth that of steel. This reduces the overall weight of the fan assembly, lowering foundation load requirements and cutting transportation and installation costs, while still maintaining mechanical strength comparable to ordinary steel.
Q Are GRP centrifugal mine fans suitable for explosion-proof environments?
Yes. FRP/GRP fans do not conduct electricity or heat, and some grades meet fire resistance class B1. They are suitable for explosion-proof and anti-static applications when paired with appropriate explosion-proof motors, making them well-suited for coal mines and other hazardous underground environments.
Q How long is the expected service life of a GRP mine fan?
Under normal operating conditions — average temperature ≤80°C and moderate chemical concentration — the service life of a GRP mine fan can reach 8 to 15 years. Maintenance costs are also significantly lower compared to traditional steel fans, offering excellent long-term value.
Q Do GRP centrifugal fans offer better energy efficiency than steel fans?
Yes. The smooth inner surface and low friction coefficient of GRP material significantly reduces gas flow resistance inside the fan casing. Compared to steel fans of similar specifications, GRP centrifugal mine fans can achieve a 3–5% improvement in overall energy efficiency, reducing long-term operating costs.
Q How much quieter is a GRP mine fan compared to a steel mine fan?
Thanks to the inherent vibration-damping properties of fiberglass and optimized dynamic balancing of the GRP impeller, the operating noise level of GRP centrifugal mine fans is reduced by 5–10 dB(A) compared to equivalent steel mine fans. This contributes to a safer and more comfortable working environment underground.
